The power of the people is display through Wyoming this weekend as part of “Step it Up” events across the state and nation. Wyomingites will be biking, hiking, skateboarding, skiing and rollerblading to show how human-powered activities can reduce climate changing pollution. Aaron Bannon is with the National Outdoor Leadership School in Lander.

"It’s something that everybody can take on personally, and it’s something that our leaders can take on nationally, too."

Darci Jones with the Wyoming Conservation Voters Education Fund says those gathering for events will also share ideas for cutting pollution, and do some brainstorming…

Expressing ways that they already are cutting carbon emissions, coming up with new, exciting ways that the community can partake in cutting carbon emissions.

The “Step it Up” campaign asks Congress to help reduce carbon dioxide pollution by 80 percent by 2050. “Step it Up” events are also taking place in Jackson, Laramie, Rawlins, Sheridan, Ucross and Etna, plus hikers will scale Gannett Peak and then ski down the Dinwoody Glacier.
